Aspace Expands to Online Sales
Aspace sells
top quality handmade wooden children's furniture. In the past, they had
depended on catalogues as their main means of communication, with a basic website
acting as an online brochure and point of contact.
Ecommerce opportunities
Grasping the opportunities offered by ecommerce, Aspace approached Clarity for a redesign and shopping cart for their site.
Now customers can browse by furniture type or use the search function. Simple but effective cross-selling techniques are employed to maximise returns. For example, the site reminds visitors who are viewing beds about 'Essential extras' such as a new mattress and sheets. When visitors view an item in a particular colour or finish, they are shown other products in matching or complimentary styles.
Site Management
Aspace staff use a simple Access database to update their site, adding new products, images, descriptions and links between complementary items. Specials can also be listed.
